Aida Cloth and Embroidery Linen and Evenweave

AidaCount size

It comes in 8, 10, 14, 16 18 and 22count for embroidery, cross stitch and Hardanger. 

The count refers to how many stitches per inch. 

         eg. 14 count means that there are 14 stitches per inch. 

Aida comes in 6, 10, 14, 16, 18 and 22 count. 

Linen and Evenweave Count Size

Linen is allot finer. again the count relates to how many stitches per inch. However because it is so fine allot of people count over 2 threads as one stitch. 

As the name suggests even weave is far more uniform and easier to stitch on. Linen is more random, you will have thicker pieces of cotton and then thinner pieces, this adds a different dimension to the stitching. 

It comes in 25 , 28 , 30  32 , 38  and 40 count. 

Some linens also have names eg, Brittany, Lugana etc. 

        eg  28 count, if you were stitching over one thread it would mean that there are            28 stitches per inch. If you are stitching over 2 threads it would be 14 stitches per inch.
